Do you do a paid out when you close your register at the end of the day for your deposit?
For example our trainer told us to start with $150 in each of two drawers and at the end of the day count all the cash leaving that $150 for the next day and then do a Paid out to close that drawer or end drawer for the the amount left over which should equal your cash sales on that register. Wouldn't it just be easier to count out your cash sales and enter the total amount in the drawer instead of doing a payout for your bank deposit?

Hi there!!
First of all, I am assuming that you are cash only correct? If not, then you are running cards that don’t include tips to employees.
anyways, you are correct. Your total cash sales + the original 150 is what should be in the drawer..,
so if you add everything in the drawer, then subtract 150, that’s what your sales are or the number you match up to the cash sales to check if your drawer was over/under from what you started with.
You do NOT do a pay out. A pay out is done when you are paying someone (like a merchant, supplier, or business that you order from) with the money (cash sales, etc) that is in the drawer, so you know then to balance that amount from your end of day totals… let me know if you have any other questions 😊
