Are there clear instructions for setting your third-party domain name up for your Square Store?

I recently set-up a Square Online Store. Having a third-party domain name that I wish to use, the instructions/clarification I have received from support have not resolved the issues I am experiencing.

I have turned on the "use a custom domain you own" setting and have entered my domain as XXXXXXX.com (Xs represent company name that I have left out here, with no "www." prefix. I was told to only point to the two IP addresses in the instructions and NOT to change the CNAME. I have also been told to point to the two IP addresses AND change the CNAME.

With both pointing to the two IP addresses AND changing the CNAME, sometimes I can get my store pulled up using www.XXXXXX.com, other times I can only pull up using XXXXXX.com. Between my third party domain company and Square Support, we've now changed back and forth several times this evening and now neither format takes me to my store using the third party domain.

Not sure what to do now.....

The most recent discussion with support indicated that I either point to the two IP addresses OR change the CNAME.... not both.

Can anyone who has been through this process clarify explicitly as to what the right way is?

Thanks in advance!

Mayermuse did you find a solution? I am sort of going through the same thing, perhaps I am not reading the article as clearly or perhaps a few steps are assumed and left out. I can't get my "toggle" to work to even go to my own domain (subdomain) I set up on 1and1.

Under Store URL - which I turned on and Square created the URL for me a few months back. Now that I am getting ready to move forward, the moment I hit the TOGGLE To Use A Custom Domain, as soon as I go to enter the very first letter, the TOGGLE turns off? I have no idea what I am doing wrong, so I can't even get as far as you.
