Are Cash In/Out transactions reflected in the "expected cash in drawer" when you end a drawer?

My drawer was off by the amount of a cash paid out transaction at the end of the night. I thought these were "calculated" in the "expected in drawer" number; is that not so?

Any chance the transaction in question happened after business hours set in Square settings? Haven't checked but that might have an impact on if the transaction was included in the sales report for the day. I wouldn't think it would affect open/close drawer report but something to look at possibly.
