I'm pretty sure Square doesn't support this, so I'm asking the community of users if anyone has found a workable method.
I sell items in multiple categories, one of which is groceries.
I am also a membership club, but I sell things to both members and non-members.
I want to apply a discount (or a price variation) to groceries bought by members. But my customers usually buy other items as well, and the discount would not apply to those items. I don't want to have to manually edit each grocery item purchased during checkout to apply the discount (or variation) item by item.
Does anyone have a way to do this?
Hey @mikesclub!
Unfortunately I don't have a workaround that I've heard of for this specific need but your thread will remain open for other sellers to comment on if they know of a way.
I'll also pass this suggestion along as a feature request to our Product Teams.
Hi Mike,
I really hope you have figured this one out as i have the same situation and am looking for a solution. Please let me know if you figured a way around this.

Hi @mikesclub @lbicheese if you're still is looking for a way to manage this please let me know.
My name is Dan I've worked in point of sale and payments for 7+ years and developed a software to help retail businesses leverage subscriptions. It's called Submatic (https://www.submatic.io/).
We have an integration with Square that automates member discounts/benefits based on the rules that you configure. For example you can create a membership for a product or which entitles the member to a discount. Our software tracks and communicates the membership benefits with Square so that you don't have to track anything manually.
If you're interested in getting more info or checking out a trial let me know. You can send me a direct message here on the forum, just hover your mouse over my username and then click "Send Message". Thanks!
