Apple Pay not working

Apple Pay does not work when ordering from an iOS phone on safari or chrome .

Hi there, @JoeCravin!🍿🍬

 

For your customers to see Apple Pay as a payment option at checkout, they will need to view your website while on an Apple Pay-enabled device. Have your customers reported being unable to pay using Apple Pay when viewing your website from an Apple device, or are you not seeing the option yourself?

I was investigating this and was able to confirm that Square doesn't have any known issues with Apple Pay at this time @H-and-HMusic.

 

If this problem persists please let our Support team know so they can take a closer look at your account and identify what could be causing Apple Pay to fail or not work correctly.

Not only does it not work, Apple Pay is NOT an option at live checkout time for our food truck. Fortunately, our customer did not get mad and used a regular credit card instead.  With so many people using Apple Pay, SQUARE needs to get this fixed ASAP!

HI @BettysFoodTruck - I definitely understand your frustration. 

Our engineers are aware of this matter and have been working to ensure that each Square seller are able to provide ApplePay to all of its customers. 

 

At this time there is no official update that this has been completely repaired but our hope is that by our next system update this is completely repaired.

Update: July 2023.  Apple pay does work now, perfectly, with our Square system running on our iPad.  It has been working correctly since April, 2023, and I just thought I would thank everyone for the fix and update the status.  Thank you.

Did the ApplePay issue get resolved? It's not coming up in my checkout page as an option, and yes I'm in an ApplePay enabled device.

I tried placing an order using my iPhone, which has Apple Pay enabled and I do see the option to pay using Apple Pay. 

 

Keep in mind if Apple Pay is not set up in your device, the option won't show at checkout.

 

Also, it appears after you click "Checkout", not in the cart screen. 

 

If you continue to experience issues, I would recommend reaching out to support directly here.

I just opened my online store, and am experiencing issues with Apple Pay not working still - right now I'm lucky it's a friend who's willing to find and use their CC
But I toggled ON the Apple Pay in the Checkout settings to make it easier for those who don't want to have to dig around for their cards - I know for a fact that my friend has an iPhone with their Apple Wallet set up, so it;s not an issue on their end

PLEASE fix this, we lose sales when our customers can't pay the way they want

Hello @RaynCreates thanks for reaching out and letting us know you having issues with Applepay.  Applepay makes checkout a lot easier so I completely understand this needs to get resolved immediately, but this currently isn't a known issue.  

 

Can you try republishing our Square online site editor and refreshing the live site? Also, Disable the payment methods and re-enable them in the Checkout settings found on your Square Online Overview page. Please let me know if you continue to have an issue. If you can please provide the exact error message and if you have a picture of it that would be amazing. I would check out "Accepting Apple Pay Online" as well to make sure you do have it set up properly. 

 

I am hoping this resolves the issues but please let me know if that is not the case.

this goes back to 2020....it's currently 2023. Definitely time to find a new platform. I stopped using Square altogether in 2021 - my life and my customers' lives have been so much better.
