App does not regonize my EIN

While completing my profile for Square, it keeps telling me that they can't find my EIN and Company name through the IRS and that I will not be able to accept payments until it is corrected. This is a 20 year old established business that has filed with the IRS using the same name and EIN the entire time. How does this get fixed? Apparently I can't call Square to correct this issue and Square offers no help in setting up a new device (that I could find). So far, I'm pretty disappointed.

We can help clarify a but here. Often times we see Sellers attempt to list their business name in association with the EIN, when it is actually registered to the individual.

 

Let's try this for troubleshooting: enter your legal name instead of your business name. Please note that a Doing Business As or DBA is not a filing recognized by the IRS. Be sure to enter your full legal name, e.g., John D. Smith DBA “John Smith Enterprises” should be entered as “John D. Smith.”
