After check out through Appointments, shouldn't the completed appointment disappear?

I complete an appointment and use the check out button that directs me to square to complete the financial transaction.  All is complete but the appointment is still shown in my apppointment app.  I would think that it should delete the appointment.  Perhaps I don't have something set up correctly or I'm expecting to much and simply have to go back and delete the appointment manually.  Can anyone help on this?

Hey @CIW, thanks for the post, and sorry to hear this may be driving you away from using our product. I wanted to let you know that we are working on adding this feature, and can offer you early access when it's ready. Let me know if that's something you're interested in - when that's an option we'll update this thread and reach out to any individuals who've said they're interested.

Hi there.

That is how the Appointments calendar was intended to behave, however automatically removing completed appointments is an interesting request.

Can you elaborate on why this feature would be useful for you? I'm sure our Appointments Product Team would love to hear your thoughts on this.

Hi EJ

I was wondering somthing similar.  I don't want the completed appointment to disappear from the calendar, BUT I wold like it noted in some way so that I can confirm that I've checked out all clients for the day.  So, for example, the appointment is normally blue.  What I would like is after I click CHECKOUT and then complete payment in the square register app successfully, that the flow would re-direct back to the appointment app and change the color of the appointment from blue to some other color.  That way, at the end of a busy day, I can simply glance at the calendar and KNOW for sure that I've charged all my customers for their services that day.  I guess if I want to ensure that now, I have to compare the appointment calendar to the sales report for that day.  Let me know if this additional info helps with the request.

Thank you.

Christopher

Hi

No...It doesn't change color.  There is no way from the appointment screen that you can tell if you remembered to check out the appointment and take payment.  You have to look at the "activity" of the day and make sure that there's a payment for each cllient.

I've noticed the same, the appointment does not change color to confirm the client was charged and the service has been completed. Because of this I'm considering switching appointment apps, even though it doesn't integrate with Square POS.

I've wondered this from day 1! This feature, as well as a feature letting me know when clients who booked online have left an appointment note or if i needed to make a note for that specific day & appointment. I get no notification of this!

this seems to not be solved I can't manually confirm the appointment or show that I have completed it. it only allows me to select no show or cancelled but i completed the appointment and would like it to show my clients whom have showed so I can show the history I have built with clients. I am planning on Starting a Tax Business within the next couple of years. Mean while I am just assisting clients with returns. In this buisness it is important to show when clients are arriving to appointments.

The only way to confirm or complete an appointment at this time is to use the "take a payment" action on the booking calendar in the Square Dashboard @Mizzacostatax

A button to complete or confirm an appointment is still considered a feature request. I will make sure to share the visibility of this post with our product team.

Hi is there any update on this? Looks like this post was from 2016 and there is still not a way to confirm the appointment manually.

For example our text confirmation texts get sent out 2 days before the appointment, but we are closed on Sundays and Mondays. So before I leave on Saturday's I call our Tuesday appointments to confirm before the text goes out. If they confirm on the phone with me, it does not show an option to confirm if the text has not been sent out first. I should be able to confirm an appointment without there having to be a text sent first

Welcome to the Community, @sageandserpent

I don't have a current update for you on this one. I would recommend bringing this to the Ideate Board to search or post.

There the Community Moderators are able to update the status of the request and sellers can drop their vote too!

I haven't found a way to check a client out using the mobile app... am I missing something?  I don't always have my laptop with me or on when it's time for them to pay so I typically use my phone for payment, but it would sure be nice to be able to look them up by the appointment they booked and even check them out with the card they used to hold the appointment if possible?

Hello @hypnojenny! Welcome to the Seller Community. 🎉

You can checkout a client from the Appointments App. You will need to make sure Square Point of Sale is installed on your mobile device first.

To check out a client from the Appointments App, select the clients appointment from your calendar. This will pull you to a new screen with the appointment details. From here click on Checkout at the top of the page.

Square Point of Sale will then open automatically and pull all of your appointment information into the checkout section of Point of Sale. Then you will just need to run the clients card and you're all set!

Please let me know if you have any other questions, or if I can clarify one of the steps for you.  😀

Is that only for apple users (from the link it only mentioned iphones and ipads)?  I have an android phone and haven't seen a square appointments app in the google play store?  I've been using the Square POS app for a few years now so I've got that already.

Hey @hypnojenny, the Square Appointments App is only for iOS devices. We are looking into an Android version of the App, but it is still a feature request.
