Adding Convention Runners - Not employees

We do several conventions across the midwest every year. The main account holders can't always be at the table (or the convention) and we want everyone to feel comfortable in the selling process without freaking out about pricing or discounts (already loaded) or taking payments. This is critical for inventory control.

 

How can I add people  - NOT EMPLOYEES - to the square? Paying $5.00/each/month for everyone that might take a payment would not be cost effective, however I don't want everyone to have access to the main email and password. 

 

EDIT - UPDATE - AND STILL A PROBLEM

 

I figured it out, but it would be super nice if I this was made clear somewhere, anmd a lot of this is sheer guesswork.

 

This is done under Accounts and Settings > Devices > Create Device. 

 

Adf the person's email and phone number. They will get an email/text to download the add and also a 12-digit code to enter.

 

When they get the log-in screen, they will click on Use Device Code and enter that 12-digit code. 

A number pad will come up for your Owner generted Passciode, but they won't need that. Thwey'll have to click on Guest and they'll have access to everything necessary to run payments. Everything else they might click on would require that 4-digit access code. 

 

The downside is if they close this app during the convention - or want to use it over every other convention, they have to re-enter in that code. That's a 12-digit code to remember for people who don't save text messages or can't remember long codes.

 

I uderstand the security and I'm grateful for the precautions, but is there an easier way, because I see myself retexting codes to people over every convention.

 

Oh - and to sign out, they need that 4-digit passcode, or the app stays open, defeating the point of Guest Users. 

 

What am I missing?

Hmm very strange, @Red. If you've issued a device code, it should be reusable for that device (and only that device) unless you disable it from your Dashboard. Furthermore, device codes will remain signed into the app indefinitely, unless your staff member manually signs out in the app, or has to reinstall it for some reason. 

 

If that's not the case, we'll definitely want to look into it. I don't see this reported elsewhere and can't look into your account .here in the Community, so please contact our Support team.
