Please consider the enhancements for the Items Library:
- It would be great to have the following added as data points:
Add Costs as a manual input data field
- (See Cashscleaners post from 3 weeks ago) -thanks Cashscleaners
- Add Margin as a calculated data field (Sales - Cost)
2. Spreadsheet View Items Library - with edit mode
- Currently the Items library requires an export and import to make several changes
- or users have to open each product to make changes
- Add an editable spreadsheet viewer on the Items Library screen
- The spreadsheet view in edit mode which shows all products would allow for multiple updates of all data points
- The spreadsheet view is more inline with how users work
3. Import Items - Status Bar
- For those that have over 1000 items it would be great to show a status bar that shows the import is in process with a %
4. Failed imports
- Currently when you import items there isn't an indicator that shows the import is in process
- We need more than a message that says "Oops something went wrong"
- After import failure we should receive the list of failed import items or some explanation
5. Guidance is needed when converting from other POS system
- SKUs in quickbooks have 13 digits
- For Square the SKU or UPC is 12 digits
- Notes should appear in the import template (after you export the template from square) that describe the requirements in each field - either as a note in the header or a separate worksheet that shows best practices
- If the template had a note that showed SKU should be 12 digits it would have saved me hours on the phone with support
- Hint - the support team was not aware and it took quite a bit of time to figure it out
