As I currently understand I can turn off prepayment requirements for individual appointments but it doesn't appear to be possible with class bookings? Could I get confirmation that is true and if so can I put in a feature request please! It's not clear through the current troubleshooting information.

You're correct that while you can turn off prepayment requirements for individual appointments, the prepayment functionality works a little differently for classes. Let me explain how this works:
Currently, the prepayment settings for appointments and classes are controlled by two factors:
- Your overall prepayment policy setting in your Square Dashboard under Appointments > Settings > Payments & cancellations.
- Whether the appointment or class has a fixed price or is free. Appointments and classes that don't have a fixed price do not require prepayment.
Here's how these settings interact:
When "No requirements to book" is selected
Fixed price services and classes:
- Appointments with fixed prices will not require prepayment
- Classes with fixed prices will require prepayment
Free services and classes:
- Free appointments will not require prepayment
- Free classes will not require prepayment
When "Require full prepayment" is selected
Fixed price services and classes:
- Appointments with fixed prices will require prepayment
- Classes with fixed prices will require prepayment
Free services and classes:
- Free appointments will not require prepayment
- Free classes will not require prepayment
If you want to avoid requiring prepayment for your classes, the current option is to set the class price to $0, and then collect payment manually in person. This way, clients can book without entering payment details online.

This has come about due to having clients that are either on credit packages or subscriptions. I originally was bypassing the payment option as you've suggested with $0 class but that meant clients who were using purchased creditss, were not being deducted a credit when they booked, so I needed to rectify that. Without realising, I solved one problem but created another it seems.
Currently I've just assigned credits to all clients ,which I'd prefer not to have to do but it solves my current issue.
Is there is a way to have credits being deducted whilst classes are at $0? If not, it would be extremely helpful having this feature incorporated - I'll still request it on the thread thanks!

Packages can only be redeemed on paid classes, I'm afraid. For free classes, once the client has been added to the class, you would need to manually edit their package quantity in the Customer Directory on their customer profile (Square Dashboard > Customer Directory > Directory > Click on name > Packages > ( ... ) > Edit quantity.
