Hey Friends.
Not new to square but new to this business model. I'm curious if there are any instructors out there who host classes and charge by the month vs the class.
Would you just set everyone up on subscriptions and those that drop in pay as they come? But then when they "sign up" for the class do they have like a discount code they enter or would I have to "comp" them each time for their class?
Hope my question makes sense. Thank you all! : )
Hey there @Mjdixon06 !

Hmmm. I'm not sure I completely understand.
Do you charge by the month only? What do you want to achieve with the discount code/comp?
If you could provide an example so I can ensure we're on the same page, that would be awesome!
Thank you.
Hi! I have a similar business model - there's 2 different ways to do this
1 If you offer unlimited -
Set up a monthly subscription in Square and share the link for clients to purchase. It will renew and charge monthly. Clients will book for the day they want online. Then set up a coupon code called CLASSREDEEM at 100% off to comp it.
2 If people pay in bundles for classes like a 10 pack for ex -
Set up an Item called 10 Pack of Classes, share the link for clients to purchase. Clients will book for the day they want online. Then set up a coupon code called CLASSREDEEM at 100% off and in the notes of the appointment, write
Class 1/10
Class 2/10
Class 3/10 etc
to keep track of how many they have left
I hope that helps!
I wish we still didn't have to do this kind of work around. It inflates inventory and doesn't actually align with the class management structure. So I'm tracking people in appointments rather than in the class. It's messy on the calendar but at least there's something in the system. <SIGH>
Our customers want to purchase bundles for a discount - this should be built in!!
@Bronze_Palms - thanks for your solution. It's helping for now.
It is definitely just a bandaid since, when you pull a report, Gross Sales and Net Sales look hyper inflated. It distracts from true "Discounts". I agree with you.
