Our purpose is for you to find connection, advice, encouragement, and community with fellow women in business and allies. This community is built for and by you, so make it your own.

First step: Introduce yourself in this thread! We want to get to know each and everyone one of you here. Stuck on how you should introduce yourself to other lady bosses? Here are some things to cover: Tell us who you are, what you’re working on and what type of business you own. If you have an online store, feel free to share with the group!

Our guiding principles

We all want productive, friendly conversation propelling us forward. Keep these in mind when posting:

• Share actionable information/material. We want this group to provide advice and actions that you can implement immediately to improve your business. Give context when asking questions and be detailed in your responses. Post about the difficult things so we can figure out an answer together as a community.
• Assume good intent. Tone on the internet is very difficult to convey. Let’s assume that everyone posting here comes from a place of good intention, so we can do the same. If anything feels amiss, please report it to our moderators.
• Treat your fellow sellers with respect. We all come from different backgrounds and may not always agree with one another, but we can always treat each other with respect. We have a zero tolerance policy for harassment or abuse of sellers or moderators because this should be a happy place on the internet.
• No spam or excessive self promotion. We’ve all seen those groups with the same people posting the same thing every single day. Let’s respect each other’s time and refrain from this type of excessive self promotion. But, by all means, when it’s time to celebrate you, shout that accomplishment from the rooftops!

Ani -  Yes, I could post my store here, lol.  Barefoot & Braless Gardens is my store.  I make soap, salves, herbal smoking blends, tinctures, and jellies from my garden produce.  I'm still learning how everything works on here.

Hello! 

My name is Sandra and I'm also a new business owner. My shop is www.sandylandshop.com. I'm currently using Faire to find inventory to carry but am keeping my eyes open for other vendors especially if they have a similar integration feature as they do with Square Online Store. Meaning that when I make a purchase on Faire the items magically appear in my Square Online Store. 😃

I then just have to edit some information in the Dashboard which is lovely. If anyone has vendor suggestions that might be a good fit for my shop please do share.

Lastly, I'm a member of The Boutique Hub right now and I'm finding it's a great community where loads of information is shared for new business owners.

Welcome @myyunnajesyiah  from a fellow newbie.  You have a cute store.  I have a question for you.  How can you sell your lip gloss at that price and make money? What do you pay for shipping? I just finished making some smudge wands and I'm trying to figure out the pricing point.  Shipping is so hard to figure out fro me, lol.

Hi! For my lip gloss pricings, I don't make them too high considering the fact that i'm a newbie, so I want for my customers to keep coming back and if I get more customers, I might up the price because right now I don't have many and I don't want for people to not come to my shop so I have low prices for the time being. For shipping on the other hand, I charge $5 for shipping and handling but for me to ship out orders I pay about 3-8 dollars per order and I let etsy choose my shipping rates for me so that I don't have to. Oh and also, before I forget, I have a free shipping guarantee for purchases over $35

Thanks for your reply.  I have my shipping built into the price and offer free shipping.  It's all experimentation until I find the sweet spot of selling 🙂 Yes, I understand on the trying to find buyers. The majority of my buyers are people I know and a few followers on my Business Facebook page.
