You made it! Welcome to Square’s togetHER community 🙌

Our purpose is for you to find connection, advice, encouragement, and community with fellow women in business and allies. This community is built for and by you, so make it your own.

First step: Introduce yourself in this thread! We want to get to know each and everyone one of you here. Stuck on how you should introduce yourself to other lady bosses? Here are some things to cover: Tell us who you are, what you’re working on and what type of business you own. If you have an online store, feel free to share with the group!

Our guiding principles

We all want productive, friendly conversation propelling us forward. Keep these in mind when posting:

• Share actionable information/material. We want this group to provide advice and actions that you can implement immediately to improve your business. Give context when asking questions and be detailed in your responses. Post about the difficult things so we can figure out an answer together as a community.
• Assume good intent. Tone on the internet is very difficult to convey. Let’s assume that everyone posting here comes from a place of good intention, so we can do the same. If anything feels amiss, please report it to our moderators.
• Treat your fellow sellers with respect. We all come from different backgrounds and may not always agree with one another, but we can always treat each other with respect. We have a zero tolerance policy for harassment or abuse of sellers or moderators because this should be a happy place on the internet.
• No spam or excessive self promotion. We’ve all seen those groups with the same people posting the same thing every single day. Let’s respect each other’s time and refrain from this type of excessive self promotion. But, by all means, when it’s time to celebrate you, shout that accomplishment from the rooftops!

Hi everyone 👋 I'm Katie one of the Seller Community admins. I'm excited to introduce myself to you all and see the conversation that takes place here.

I'm originally from the Bay Area, but lived a few years on the East Coast (those winters were so cold!). I love dogs, chocolate, and traveling. I've worked fostering community engagement for a few years and been at Square for a little more than a year.

Hi, I'm Tana! I live in Sacramento, CA. I create rustic home decor and primitive dolls, often using worn out antique quilts in the process.

I mostly sell on Etsy (and also eBay and Amazon Handmade); my shop name is PrairiePrimitives on all of these sites (my official biz name is Prairie Primitives Folk Art). I also do about 8 craft fairs & vintage markets each year ... and that's where I use Square. I bought my 1st smartphone in 2009 so that I could use Square! ♥

That's amazing @Sierra! Do you have a favorite craft fair or vintage market? I went to the West Coast Craft fair in SF this past year and it was awesome seeing all the goods and art there 🙂

Hey ladies! I have been making soap for 15 years and a few years ago I retired from travling to art shows to sell my art - to try selling my soaps instead - I was tired of all the travel and wanted to puruse a selling my soaps and  such - I sold out of my soap in one hour at the local farmers market on my first day!  So I retired my from my art business and the rest is history - I am  54 now - 2 years ago in May I opened a a small boutique here in Crested Butte, Colorado and will have a big expansion next month. I offer a wide range of handmade lotions and skin care too and a few hair care products. I own a couple of shops in Old Town Albuquerque—Whimsy Tea & Gifts (where I also sell my own tea line called Loose Leaf Women) and a metaphysical store called Namaste. I have a Ph.D. in Mythology/Depth Psychology and love all things "female empowerment!"

Hi! I'm Kayona. I'm a storyteller (filmmaker). I'm doing some "different stuff" in the world of art/entertainment, and Square is part of it! Excited to be here!

Hi @Kayeb88 - so cool to have a creative + storyteller here! Do you have a favorite film genre or art medium?

I prefer to tell narrative (fictional) stories, although I do work with agencies for promo videos and musicians for music videos. I'm currently building a platform around my forthcoming TV show, Of Music and Men, where I've produced novellas, a short film, and have plans for some other aspects of media! Thanks for asking.

Intro: Hello all! I'm Carissa and I own M2 in Concord, NC. I sell young women's contemporary fashion apparel. I also own a fashion truck! On top of all this, I'm an elementary school teacher's assistant, I have 2 sons and I'm married!

It's pretty much an old UniFirst delivery truck that my husband, dad, and I gutted and made a boutique on the inside.
