The 'ber months are here!!

We are full swing into September and the holidays are just around the corner!  Now is the time to start talking/planning/decorating, etc. for the holidays!!

I know that we have a lot of members in this group but not much activity recently.  Let's change that!!

• What is your favorite holiday this time of year?
• How do you celebrate both personally and in your business?
• What do you plan to do differently for your business promotions this year?
• When do you decorate at home and your business?
• What is your favorite part of this time of year?  What does fall and winter make you feel like?
• Do the holidays get you all amped up and excited or stress you out?
• We've all tried, at least once, to do ALL THE THINGS for Christmas.... what would be the ONE thing you won't give up at holiday time, no matter how much stress you're under?
• Lastly, how can we, as a community of women, help you have a happier holiday season?

CHRISTMAS & Small

Business Saturday (of course!) ✨ 

How we celebrate: 

We decorate the shops! It’s truly magical. Like a coffee shop in the North Pole. We love to have a Christmas party with the crew. It’s always so fun 🎁 

Personally Christmas is very important to us and our faith! We love to have advent calendars, watch Christmas movies, and we love to wear “ugly” Christmas sweaters! Cinnamon rolls are

a MUST on Christmas morning. Then we stay in our pajamas ALL DAY.

we launch more merch and have more gifty items in our marketplace 🙂 

When we decorate is really dependent on the life schedule. Usually a week before thanksgiving or right after thanksgiving. 

We will ALWAYS decorate no matter what.

We also collect unique nativity scenes from our travels!

That is certainly a unique thing to collect.  How do you have enough room to display them all?

Lately they’ve actually been quite small! But sometimes we give some a break and bring them out the next year 🙂

Yep! We have that for a bit of our decor. Some years it stays in the box and some years it comes out. We have so much and not a huge house so we choose each year what we’ll use!

I do that with a few things here and there.  With our new venture though, I may end up putting a few of my things over at the store...

We decorated for halloween Sept 1.

We used to change up our windows every month- but now the schedule is:

Winter Window (Jan 6.- Beginning of March) we keep the bones and change up the accents for valentines day, etc.

Spring Window (with St Patrick's day thrown in)

June 1- Summer Window- Pride Window. Pride stays up all Summer

Sept 1- first week November- Halloween/Spooky Window

November - January 6 Christmas/Holiday

When we were smaller we'd do more- but now 5 seems PLENTY!

Fall is my favorite season here in Michigan. Our store is almost in full bloom of Christmas ‌👀‌‌😳‌ every year it’s sooner and sooner. When I see it in the big box store, I know I better get on it. Business is booming; it’s been this way since about last October, and it’s not slowing down. I don’t know what to expect from it come this winter, but we had our best two winters in a row last year and the year before. I had to hire two times this year, and winters in Michigan can be brutal. The last two years were pretty mild. You just know mother nature is going to snap you back into reality. One thing I won’t sacrifice or give into is closing on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and the day after Christmas. We have a big close family, and we all get together for those three days out of the year. My family and my husband’s family are one of those days. Life is never promised for tomorrow, and both our parents are getting older, so it’s our time to spend all together.

Favorite Holiday: Halloween

I go crazy for the decorations both in the studio and at home.  I'm also that person that dresses up and hands out king size candy bars.  Decorations go up Oct 1 and come down a few days after Halloween. I think I like is so much because of all the fun options.

My daughter loves going to "the coolest house" as she's labeled it.  She always remembers exactly where to go as does the other kids.
