As the subject lines says, Unable to Verify Identity.
I just burned my main email trying to verify my identity. and as a result, I cannot use that account any more"
Rang the 1800 number, 3 times, and alas, no help provided, just that the account is not active, and "At this time we cannot do anything"
"All you can do is sign up with a new email" As silly as "just signing up" with a NEW email to create an accounting account, i have done this.
made sure back account was all sorted, abn, bn, all is legit and turned on the terminal, I have now tried TWICE with my drivers licence, current, no restrictions, damage to card, etc. WHY cant i get through this and and have my identity confirmed?!
This is insanely frustrating both for my business, time and should i be worried that my identity and financial information is at risk.
Can anyone assist before i cant return this paperweight of a terminal?

I think I understand what you mean by 'burned your email.' When you sign up for a Square Account, your email is linked to the account in our system, even if you don't pass the verification step. If you fail verification on your first attempt (you get four tries per account), our Support Team can release the email from that account so you can use it to sign up again. However, if you fail verification on your second attempt, we can’t offer additional tries.
It sounds like you've already done everything right by contacting our Support Team and gathering the necessary information to verify your identity. Unfortunately, we don’t have specific details on why verification fails for some individuals, but we do offer a troubleshooting guide with common reasons for failure.
As a general recommendation for anyone who may stumble across this thread, it’s best to sign up for a Square Account before purchasing hardware to avoid situations like this. That said, you can still return your Square hardware within 30 days for a full refund.
It’s possible that our system is unable to verify your details right now, but if you're still looking for a payment processor down the line, I suggest trying again in a few months as things may change. 🙂
