Can Square ad a currency symbol to Tax Invoices?

I am based in Australia and operate our international business from within Australia. I have international customers buying products, but the issue is those customers especially from the United States, receive and invoice, tax invoice and/or receipt in Australian $ value. The problem is it does not show the sale is converted into AUD $. So the customer makes a purchase for lets say US$50 but get an invoice payment receipt for $69 which is really AUD$ but the customer freaks out and then cancels the order.

Can the AUD $ be added in front of the price?

Hey @MariusLandman,

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the community!

Right now there's no ability to add a currency denominator to your dollar amounts, but thank you for sharing your feedback and use case. We'll continue to track feedback in this thread moving forward.

In the meantime, doing your best to set clear expectations with your customers in advance would be the way I'd recommend managing the situation as it stands. If you're using invoices you can set a default invoice message (or add a custom one per invoice) that may help:

Hi Seamus - the problem is the "custom message" on Square invoices do not work. It is set to show but it does not show. Its does show in the review but the customer does not get that message and its does not show on invoices, otherwise it would be a solution. So if Square can fix that issue under the default invoice then that would help.

There are two options: Return Policy and Custom Text.
Return Policy works, but Custom Text does not.

Can this be fixed if possible?

Hey @MariusLandman,

If you've made changes to both of these fields and then saved those changes, but the custom text is still not appearing per the example, I'd recommend getting in touch with support for further help here.

They'll be able to take a look into the back end of you account and try to replicate the issue and find a solution for you - it doesn't appear that we're seeing widespread issues with how theses fields work and both should display on your receipt. If there is a specific issue with your account they can help further!

You can call support on 1800 760 137 (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm Melbourne time), or contact us via email:

1. Sign in to your Square account

2. Head to our contact page https://squareup.com/help/au/en/contact

3. Go to "Other" then "I don't see my issue"

4. Click "Message us" or "Email us"

Please let me know how you go!

Unless you can only use either or and not both Return Policy and Custom Text. I will try that.

It appears we're actually talking about different things here @MariusLandman!

To clarify, you're wanting this information to appear on the Square Receipt (aka a Tax Invoice issued to a customer upon receipt of payment) rather than a Square Invoice (an email you can send to customer with an amount owed, that they click a link to make a payment by entering their card details online).

I did test the two fields you posted for receipts and it appeared to work:

Thanks Seamus

Yes Square Receipt - after they make a payment online they get emailed a copy.

In our case, only the Return Policy works but the Custom Text does not work and does not appear on the receipt.

Question is, the two fields (Return Policy & Custom), will they both show once text has been inserted?

As mentioned, in our case, only the Return Policy shows but not the Custom Text.
Can this be looked into please.
