How can I get my cash drawer to work with square stand?
Hi I purchased my square stand late winter hoping to open my shop, but have had outside issues and now we are finally ready to go. Problem is, my square stand is not at all compatible with cash drawer, and the only way I can even open it ( no printer as of yet) is by key. I don't see any port on my cash drawer to even plug anything in. HELP!

there are 2 types of cash drawers, USB operated and printer driven. The USB-driven ones simply plug in via USB to the square stand hub. the printer-driven models have what looks kinda like a telephone cord that plugs into the drawer and the other end to the printer. Only certain models are compatible.
We operate multiple of our checkouts just with the key in the drawer.

Thanks for responding.
Yes, I did some research and found that there were 2 types, but I don't have a port for usb, nor do I have a port for my "telephone jack to plug into my cash drawer. I simply have a cash drawer that does not have anyway to communicate with any peripherals, no usb opening, no ethernet opening. How can I get Square to help with this?

there are just plain cash drawers that don't have any connections and maybe that is what you have. If it doesn't have any connection spots you will not be able to connect it to Square. It can still function, just not be popped by Square. As I said above we operate 3 of our 5 registers just with the key to open =the drawer. We used to use ethernet printers that operated it but we had to get new printers so they no longer open by square.
What is the brand and model number you purchased?

Is there a pic, perhaps, that someone could snap real quick to show where usb or ethernet is plugged into the cash drawer end. I've never been this duped. This will help so much.

You should have a USB hub on the plug wire that provides your square stand power. There should be three ports in it, one for cash drawer, one for printer and one for scanner.
