There are a few indicators of an upgrade without a warning:
- The status board say's there are no problems but the online help desk is admitting there are issues with the online aspects of square.
- Small things are working differently - orders are appearing differently online.
- Different aspects of the platform have been different all day.
Does square have a upgrade notification policy and if so, where is it?

Square doesn't generally implement system wide upgrades. Can you go into a bit more detail on the changes you've seen on the platform?
We experienced some syncing issues across Square online, which should now have been resolved- let us know if you're still seeing any issues here!
New features, and updates to how the dashboard looks and functions get released from time to time, and we send out email updates about these. For example, the option to mark items as sold out across Square Online and the Square Point of Sale, is a new feature that was released last week. This recent update doesn't change how the rest of your dashboard looks, or works.

Hi Arie,
For about 12 hours, I was unable to move between online and the home dashboard without getting an error. During this period, the orders section was coming up as an abbreviated box down the RHS of the screen area.
I also lost all my tax settings and while I have reset them twice, I am not confident they are stable

I checked in to see if we were experiencing any outages of this nature in the last few days but wasn't able to locate anything, and haven't heard any other reports of this nature.
I don't doubt you might have seen some issues, however I need to clarify that there was no "upgrade" in place that might have caused the issues you were seeing - did you see or read anything else related to system upgrades, or is it an assumption based on the issues you were seeing? Do you have any screenshots of what things looked like when you were seeing issues? Were there reports from customers? I'm wondering if you might be seeing some account specific issues or bugs, or it's also not out of the question that something like this may have been a web browser caching issue.
Taxes are managed separately from Square Online so any issues here shouldn't be related - have you seen any issues since with your taxes via the dashboard?
Generally speaking, we have really good visibility on any issues or outages our sellers may be seeing, so that we can relay this information in a timely manner via issquareup.com and so we can respond to enquiries like yours! In this case though, I simply can't see any disruptions of this nature in the usual channels where seller-facing issues are raised, which leads me to believe these may have been account specific issues (or originating from a non-Square places, eg the suggestion of web browser cache issues).
Any additional info you can provide would be helpful, including whether you've seen subsequent issues since the original post. Thanks and sorry that you saw these disruptions to your account!
