Why does a manager have to punch in before the employee?

Hi,

I have Square for about a year and a half. I have had an employee for about 7 months. During the first few months, my employee could punch in and out freely. Over the past 1.5 months, Square has started requiring me to (owner/manager) to login in before my staff can. I have to enter my password, even if I am clocked in.

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong or if I hit a bad prompt somewhere?

We are trying to take a vacation and I don't want to have to give my employee my main password to punch in when I am not there. Thanks!

@limberlost The only thing I can think of is that they are trying to clock in before their scheduled time.

Our employees are able to clock in up to 5 mins before their scheduled shift. Anything more than that requires a passcode. We as owners do not clock in and our employees are still able to clock in even without a "manager" clocked in. Square isn't able to tell who is an actual manager or not. Yes you can name a permission set "manager" But you could also name is "lead" or not have a separate permission set for managers and your employees should still be able to clock in.

Check what your clock in time restraints are. Again we have ours set to 5 mins before a scheduled shift.
