Staff member logs into Square Teams

Hi.

 

We use Square Teams so all our staff can see their rotas and clock in/out etc. We have taken on a new member of staff and they already have a Square account for items they sell themselves. What seems to be happening is that when they log into the Square Teams App it automatically logs her into our Square account on the main Square app when she opens it. Is there a way to stop this happening so that she can log into our company Teams App and use her own Square app for selling from. Hopefully this makes some sort of sense. @Ethellovesme

Hey there @Ethellovesme.. How interesting.  I think you might have found a situation that is unique here.  Also, I'm suspecting you have found either a but or at least an inconsistency in how various Square apps handle sign-ins between themselves.  But, before I go crazy here and start making assumptions, I need one big clarification -- when you say "the main Square app," to which app are you referring?  One of the Square POS apps, and if so which one?  The Square Dashboard app?  Or something else?

 

Also, I know it will be a pain, but it would be most helpful if your team member could start a screen recording session on their mobile device (with audio, please, and show this to us visually.  In this case, it would be helpful for them to show that they are signed into what you call the "main Square app," then when they go to Team and sign into your business there that when they go back to the "main Square app" that app has "magically" switched to a different account.

 

Sorry for all the steps and such, but in this case trust me when I say it will be necessary so that I can determine which Square teams need to receive this information from the moderators when I tag them.

Thanks for the reply and sorry I haven't replied, I am waiting for the member of staff to go through this so that I can post it here.

 

It is the Square for retail POS on her phone that seems to be logging into when she logs onto Teams, I am assuming it will be something to do with her email adress.
