Is there a way to not have to schedule breaks for employees within the app/

The title of this thread has been edited from the original: Breaks

 

Is there the option where we do not have to schedule the breaks, but at clock out the employee simply checks a box affirming they took their break.  This protects me and avoids me from having to schedule the breaks.   This is how our old app worked and seems much easier, or is there a work around that I am missing?

Hi @Lisaparker1.  So the feature that you are describing does not exist.  However, I don’t think that you really need it and can use what Square already gives us.  Here’s what I mean.

 

First, you do NOT need to schedule breaks.  Employees can take breaks without them being scheduled.  After they are clocked in, they can enter the time clock (on a POS) with their number and will be given the option to “End shift” or “Take a break.”  If they take a break, then when they come back from break they can do the same things and end their break.  Then you will have a record that they actually did take a break.

 

Second, I believe that employees can do the exact same thing from the Square Team app, if you utilize that in your business.

 

Otherwise, if you really want to add another step to employee clock out procedures for employees to affirm that they took a break as required, then you will need to submit a feature request here.
