The title of this thread has been edited by a Square Moderator from the original: Team members can no longer Configure checkout settings, only Full access
Sometime this week something changed on Square POS that is preventing my managers from enabling offline mode, tipping, or signature on my Square POS. They have been able to do this for the last 6 years. After investigating the permission sets I discovered that Square has made a change so Full Access is required to Configure Checkout Settings.
I shouldn't have to give my managers access to every setting and all employee information in my account just so they can enable offline mode when my ISP goes offline or to enable tipping on the weekends! This needs to be fixed.
Hi @KidsWonder - Welcome back to the Square Community, although I'm sorry to hear this issue with Permissions has brought you here 😞
I understand your frustration surrounding this change. I’ve shared your post with our Product Team, as they are constantly improving our products based on feedback like this.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts here. If there's any further updates I can share, I'll be sure to let you know.
Why was this change even necessary? As an business owner, the staff or the team member need to have the full access for Configure Checkout Settings, they can not use their phone or device to change let customer "sign on device "or sign on the paper recipt anymore. That is not convenient at all. Cause as a restaurant or a bar or a small business, you can not have the printer everywhere. It is easy to let the customer sign on the device with the service provider. But now with this Change“Full Access Now Required for Staff to Configure Checkout Settings" you need to give all you staff or team member Full access to let them Configure Checkout Settings(to let customer "sign on device "or sign on the paper recipt) . Which means if you want your staff or team member Configure Checkout Settings they will have the Full access with your Square account and they are all means Owner to Square. That lead A LOT of problems and everbody in team can change your Businnes info with Square. PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! WE NEED TO CHANGE IT BACK!
Why was this change even necessary? Store owners already had the ability the restrict which employees had access to which settings. This week Square has taken a lot of that configurability away from store owners forcing us to look for other solutions. What is going to happen the next time I am out of town and my ISP goes down, do I just have the team close up shop for the day? Absolutely not! I have to have a backup POS solution. So I'll be looking for a better alternative.
Hi there, does the square system change it back? Why my team member still need FULL ACCESS to Configure Checkout Settings?
Let me know thanks!
