How to fix Team Commission Tracking issue when there is a Return.

Whenever there is a returned item in sales the Team Reporting on Commission is not accurate. Is anyone else seeing this in their reports? I think I found the issue BUT I want to see if anyone else has noticed that the commission does not add up correctly when an item is returned.

Hi @HugoTheBarber .  After reading your post, I did a quick search for other threads on the subject “commission returns.”  It seems that you have identified a known issue, but as of March 2022 it was still an outstanding issue. A number of other sellers have pointed out the importance of a fix for this to Square, which I know doesn’t help you now.

 

The only suggestion I have is to add another step to your payroll, in which you would run a Transaction Report for the period for type = Refunds, and manually adjust the affected employees payroll before submitting it.  You didn’t mention who you use for your payroll, but I do know that adjustments are available in Square Payroll.

 

I’m sorry I can’t give you a more satisfying answer, but I hope this will at least help you plug the hole for now.
