Editing breaks, during the break period

Our cashier clocks our employees in and out for their lunch breaks. Sometimes, when she is busy, she misses a clock out for an employee to start their break. It is really annoying that you cannot go into the time card and correct the time out for lunch until the employee has clocked back in from lunch.  Even if I go into the computer, I cannot correct the issue right then. I have to wait until the 30 min. break has ended. Has anyone else found a way to fix the clock out time while the employee is still on his/her break?

Hey @WBAW.  Unfortunately, this is true not only for breaks but for regular clock ins as well.  They can’t be edited until they are closed.  This request has probably been made before, but I’d suggest that you head over to the Ideate Board and submit a feature request to one of the Square Staff & Payroll team.  They will review it and decide if that is something they want to put on a future product roadmap.  Note that you should state your issue clearly, make you case for why this would be a good feature to have not only for you but for other sellers as well.  Square staff will post replies to your idea during the evaluation process and let you know their decision.

Also, I should say that it is wise to remember that Square has most likely set their product change roadmap a few months in advance so they can plan manpower and budgets to make the new features on that roadmap a reality.  Which is just my way of saying that even if Square decides to add this to a future roadmap it will not come quickly.
