Profit Reporting

Profit Reporting

Greetings,

I could not find any threads that were specific in reporting profit, but is there some way to add the cost of an item so that Square can calculate the the total profit of each item sold? I would think it would be added under Price and Inventory when editing an Item, but having a cost would better help see a total profit made.

I have two retail shops that have a few hundred different items in each store, so I am curious if there is easier way for Square to track the profit. I also would think that since I use Square Payroll, it would deduct the payroll cost out per item or per day, giving an even more precise Profit. If credit card fees gotten taken out as well, I would think it would make tracking total profit much easier in the Square Reporting.

Just an idea, but I could not find any threads that expanded on this topic.

Thank you!

Hi @DorothyandTonys ,

Yes! Square does have reports that show your profit.

With Square for Retail Plus you have access to the COGS report. The Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) report is designed to help you view your revenue, profit, and profit margin for each item variation.  With Square for Retail you also have access to additional retail reports too.
