Credit Card Surcharge for Split Payments

Credit Card Surcharge for Split Payments

I am under the impression that currently credit card surcharges can't be applied to Split Bills.

This seems completely ridiculous and is likely costing thousands of restaurants significant revenue.

We regularly have guests who want to pay 50% on two different credit cards. I understand if one guest was to pay with cash and the other with card that it might make it slightly more complicated but these situations are less regular.

I also noticed that if a guest uses a gift voucher to pay part of their bill, then the credit card surcharge is not applied to the remaining amount.

I find it hard to believe that these possibilities were were not discussed by the development team when the credit card surcharges were introduced.

Please let me know if you need any more information. And please consider this an urgent request as we are losing $1000+ revenue every week.

Hi @France-Soir,

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your feedback—my apologies for the delay in getting back to you!

We're aware of the demand for automatically applying surcharges to split payments at checkout. This is a known limitation of the current Card Surcharges Beta. While our Beta Team is working to enhance the card surcharges experience based on Seller feedback, we recommend using split bills or the open ticket function to ensure the surcharge is automatically applied at checkout.

If I can help with any additional questions, please don't hestiate to let me know!

I also recommend joing the Surcharges Beta Community group for the latest updates on this feature and to connect directly with the Beta Team. 🙂

I have not noticed this before. As I am using it for weekend surcharge, I am sure I have lost plenty. It was previously not like this. Also now does not apply the extra sales tax either when splitting the bill.
