Can I modify a subscription?

I notice I can't do much with a subscription once I have created it. I would love to see the subscriptions feature become more robust, with the ability to change the subscription start date, or modify the subscription by adding to the existing one, rather than creating a new one. It would also be helpful to be able to filter and sort subscriptions for things like active, canceled, scheduled, ect, as well as which ones will invoice in time periods. If there is a way to do any of this I'd be thrilled to know!

Since some of the pieces you're asking for here are feature requests, I've moved your post over to the Square Subscriptions Ideate Board.

 

Currently, it is not possible to edit the subscription start date after you have already created the subscription. The ability to filter and sort subscriptions for things like "active, canceled, scheduled, etc." is currently on our Product Team's radar but is not possible at this time. However, some fields of the subscription (notes, tax percentage, price override) are modifiable via the UI or API, but some are not at this time.

Hi @Strong_Fitness ! Thanks for the feedback. For the 2nd part of your question regarding better filtering and reporting, we did just release a CSV Export feature for Subscriptions. This will allow you to download all of your subscription data and use it in a spreadsheet of your choosing. We are also planning to build better filtering/sorting/reporting features into the Subscription Dashboard in the future!

I share all your frustrations. The subscription service borders on unusable for my very simple needs. I am on a squeaky wheel crusade to improve the subscription functionality before I have to abandon square online for a service that can meet basic use standards.

@jean_sq@_Violet So what's the update on this?? Almost a year, and the Subscriptions portion of Square isn't getting any attention. No filtering/sorting/reporting in the Dashboard, and certainly no ability to change subscription start dates. I have subscriptions that were cancelled years back that clutter all my active subscriptions. 

 

Even pausing is a pain in the butt (If I have to extend a Pause that was scheduled to resume on a certain day, I haven't found a way to extend that Pause without accidentally charging the client again).
