Hi, I have two locations with two separate POS systems that are both logged into our Square account. Last year we had no issue having each POS system have their own tax—one was assigned to Denver, CO and the other to Boulder, CO.
However, now whenever any tax setting is adjusted on one POS iPad, it automatically transfers to the other. How can we get back to keeping them under two distinct settings? The tax rates are very close together, but over the course of a year will result in some definite inaccuracies.
Make sure you are using your account with 2 Locations.
And then you can set the Address for each Location and create 2 Sales Taxes. Use 1 rate for Location 1 and the other rate for your Other Location.
Here is where you can create Sales Tax Rates : https://app.squareup.com/dashboard/business/manual-taxes

Then make sure you have Device Codes setup with each device assigned to a Location :
Also here is more about Device Profiles:

Hope all this helps
