Multiple rules to apply discount

Multiple rules to apply discount

I see this came up a couple of years ago, but I wanted to bring it back up.  It would be a very useful enhancement to apply a discount to customers of certain type, when they purchase specific items.. Right now you can only do one or the other which adds multiple steps to the checkout process.  The idea of applying 2 rules to a discount doesn't seem that complicated, and it would be incredibly useful to save time at checkout.

Thank you for considering.

I too need this feature. I'd like to be able to add an automatic coupon for a customer group that gives a specific percentage off of specific categories (all purchased items in those categories, not just highest priced item).

We're a nonprofit art organization with a retail store. Our members should get 10% off art and store purchases, but not on classes, membership, donations, etc.

Thanks!

Hey @frankfortarts & @jraposo!

Thank you so much for submitting this Feature Request!

I've updated it to the "Open" status. This step in the Feature Request process will be a time in which other sellers can add their use cases to your idea to make it stronger and demonstrate further how much it is needed. Later on, we'll re-visit the most popular feature requests in the "Open for Votes" status and bring them to product teams.

To other sellers that see this feature, please “like” the post and reply with a use case that your business would have. This will help to signal that this feature request is even more important to address.

This is so frustrating!!! @RobynRm, yet another function that has been requested over and over again that square ignores. Please advise on a work around for apply a discount for specific services or categories only to a specific group. I cant understand why you cant apply more than one rule to this. These functions were available on other systems i used years ago.

I too need this feature. I have a mug club customer group that I need to be able to automatically apply a discount to when a member of that group purchases a draft beer. Currently, I have to ask the customer if they are a member and then manually apply the discount at checkout which is an additional step. This should be an easy fix. Please work on this feature. I see lots of requests for it within the seller community.

Please Please Please! add this feature. I offer a club membership where members get a discount when they purchase items from a specific category. They also get free entry into certain events and it would be amazing for this to apply automatically to that group. Automatic discounts are unusable as they are right now because it applies the discount to every item in the purchase.

Oh, the sooner we get this function, and all the others that have been requested for years, the better. Why in the world would we only be able to use one variable at a time??

I just created a Friends Club membership at my nonprofit retail store. Certain discounts will only apply to those who I have put in the Friends Club customer group. My team now has to add the customer to the transaction so I can monitor the use of the discount, but could easily apply the discount to any transaction whether the customer (who may or may not be added) is a "Friend" or not.

To provide 20% off a valentine's floral order to our Friends Club members...

Create a 20% discount that only applies to the Friends Club members (customer group) -> The entire transaction is 20% off.

Create a 20% discount that only applies to a fresh floral order (item) -> every customer who purchases a floral order gets 20% off.

This is a customer group discount OR item discount.

To make this meaningful, I need the rule to say "customer is in friends club customer group" and "item is fresh floral order."

Just let me toggle more than one discount rule for a single discount!

And the ability to scan a coupon code that populates the corresponding discount would be magical, but it's nowhere near as critical as allowing multiple rules for a single discount. Let's go, let's do this. You got this, we're rooting for you, and we know you can make this happen.

I'm also in the same boat. I need to have a category that I can assign specific items to, and then customer's within the correct group can get discounts on just that category worth of items. So i need a rule for a Given Group and a rule for a Given Category for a discount to apply.

I have created multiple discounts using multiple rules.  Now, I am being told I cannot do this.  What happened???  This is absurd.

This is the most important feature square could add hands down! We are trying to build loyal customer groups and need to be able to offer them unique discounts without overloading staff.
