PTO and Sick Pay login/reporting

There is no easy way to view a report and/or export a CSV file of every employee’s PTO and/or Sick Pay balance. This information should be more accessible! Sometimes I want to look at a bunch of employees’ PTO quickly, and I currently have to click on each name, then scroll down to the PTO section of the very busy “Edit Team Member” page. This would be waaaay easier in a list.

 

Also, if it isn’t already, Payroll should really be tracking every change to every employee’s balances. So for every employee, I should be able to see a log of everything that happens to their PTO balance. Presumably there are three event types: hours accrued, hours used, or manual edit to balance. So if you make a log available it’d be a pretty simple table, where every line has a date, event type, amount changed, and new balance. This is important for avoiding errors. If someone makes a manual change, it’s good to know the history before it, and if an accrual schedule is wrong, there’d be a “paper trail” to show how the hours should be different.

We have gone ahead and changed the status of this feature request to “Reviewed”. You provided a great assessment on how you would use the PTO and Sick Pay login/reporting along with the potential business use/need for something like this on our platform from a seller’s perspective.

It would be helpful if when going through the payroll process, if the current PTO or Sick Time balances were listed. That way we know if they have the time, or keep them from going into a negative balance. The only way I know to check is to leave the payroll screen go to the individual team member and check their balance. It would be helpful if the balance was shown on the screen where you need to enter the PTO or Sick being payed.

I feel like this should have ben a feature when you first launched this payroll. I promise you the payroll service that square uses has this feature. As a business owner, why create a product missing features you have for your company. So square, literally use the payrolll company that you use and every since feature you have this product should have. We should also be able to schedule breaks when making shifts, instead of being ghetto and putting it into the "notes" sections or having employees asking me every day, what time they break is. I promise you, every single square employee has this on they schedule. Why we need to ask for this to be a feauture is crazy! yall got to do better or hire better devolpers to make these simple changes quickly instead of these updates once or twice a year. Imagine apple did only 1 update a year? They do one massive one and tons of mini ones through out the year!

With the mandatory Paid Leave that started in Illinois this year (2024) it is more important to be able to generate a report of each employees available (and used) PTO/Sick Leave. Only being able to access this information on an individual bases for our managers is both time consuming and error prone. Please consider either allowing us to generate a new report that will list our employees and information on each, like PTO/Sick Leave or, at a minimum, include the PTO/Sick Leave balance on the normal payroll report.
