SMS Marketing in Australia

Market research shows 98% of people read a sms 🙂 emails just go to trash its like junk mail in your letter box now.. 

We need this feature in Australia atm Im forced to use other third party platforms my customer data base is in Square I don't want to share with any other website please activate SMS marketing for Australians

While the ability to send text message campaigns is not yet available with Square Marketing, I can see how this feature would be useful. I've gone ahead and shared this feedback with our Product teams.

Gotta say, bit sick of this cut n paste response. Just so you know, no-one buys it. We don’t ever see features added that we need, so this default response is just blah. Square needs new material.

Seems to be a full SMS marketing suite available for American & GB customers...

SMS marketing would definitely help our business especially for our events that we don't announce till last minute usually our emails aren't opened till after the event.

even for our early release events we have to email at least 3 times to get good engagement.

SMS would allow us to do a quick email campaign the day before an event with historically high open rates to really help drive customers to our events.

There is third party options but at $0.08 a message out 10k list would cost $800per SMS campaign. 

We would even be happy to pay square for the service e.g. $0.04 per message or a subscription base etc. or a tiered price level.

I understand it's been a long wait for this feature! If I had more news to share with you, I absolutely would. But we're in the same boat as you in terms of waiting for this product launch.

To clarify, SMS Marketing is currently available only to US Sellers; it has not been introduced to any other markets outside the US. When SMS Marketing eventually launches in all markets, there will be a public announcement made to all Sellers.

Square needs to works on this asap to make this available in Australia.

Lots of Square's competitors have already had this function.

This now shows in my Loyalty Settings - when you click through it will only allow a US phone number.  Does this mean that we are close to getting SMS in Australia?

@ChillNL, apologies for the delay—and thank you for sending the screenshot, as I'm not seeing this same option on my own Square Loyalty Settings page in my Dashboard.

Let me check in with the team on this one to see if we've got anything in the works currently!

Can you confirm that the navigation path is Dashboard > Loyalty > Settings, and this is where you're seeing the Automated Text option?

There was actually a pop up when I went into the Loyalty page, after that the setting was available for maybe a week or so.  It is gone now.
