Multiple KDS views

We having 3 KDS right now - it would be helpful if I would be able to quickly switch on one KDS display to a view only of another KDS.

 

Let's say Bar area has it's own KDS for sweets and drinks. But also customers come and ask Bar staff how long a food order will roughly take. Or how much longer for their takeaway order. On busy days, you don't have the time to go 70 meters in to the kitchen and bother your kitchen staff with these kind of questions. If Bar staff, could just quickly switch to Kitchen view only mode - and see order for customer XYZ is next. Easy answer, your order is next in line.... 

Also this would give Bar or till person the option to check how old the docket is the kitchen is working, on so that can be a rough estimate how long and order might take, 

Having the option to swap view other displays would be amazing

While the feature you're requesting isn't currently available, you may want to consider setting up an additional device in the bar area to display kitchen orders. This way, your bar staff can easily check the status of orders without needing to go to the kitchen. I understand that this means you would need another device set up in the meantime, so really appreciate you bringing this idea forward. 🙂

While we don’t have any updates at the moment, if this changes we’ll be sure to loop back on this thread and let you know.

I understand that this feature has no high priority and may need some deeper thoughts how to implement and what the benefits for customers might be. 

 

one of the issues might be the hybrid structure of square regarding centralised and decentralised settings of devices. 

 

Based on your current KDS setup. i can basically achieve the feature, by simply turn on and off display groups. it's a bit cluncky and a simple tap with the settings of a different display or the optional settings of the seconds or third display would be more elegant. 

 

Let me know if you need additional input and how I see benefits od such solution.

In the meantime, I’ve had a look on the Square App Marketplace and can see we integrate with FlashOrder, which allows you to filter orders by station. You can check out their website here.
