Please change tip percentage calculation to be calculated BEFORE a discount rather than AFTER. Discount should not change the suggested tip amounts, costing service providers literally thousands of dollars.
Literally can someone finally do something about this? I saw a thread tom 2016 with the same issue and nobody does anything. We are loosing money over here due to this dumb **bleep** issue. Do something.
Also, to add to this, we would like the tip to populate on the services only, not the retail. We have clients who complain about this daily!!! I have also noticed it has been requested for years and have not received a response.
Another update would be to allow the clients to custom-tip each service provider how they would like or to split the tip left by the service cost. For example, one of our hairstylists used an assistant for just a shampoo, but the tip would be divided equally when the service cost is very different.
Or they had a hair color that cost $100 with a hairstylist and a $20 brow wax with an aesthetician. The 20% tip would be split equally between both, which is a hassle, especially since we cannot edit any closed tickets.
Hi @kristen - does the status change mean we are getting some attention and work done on this issue? There are other threads about the same issue with tons of personal stories to go with it. We are losing money which means square is too? What wouldn’t that be a priority?
I have several family members who are IT and programming and they have all said that this can’t be too hard of a programming issue, why are we being put off for so long?
Just adding another voice to this request, with an example.
If a beer costs $7 and someone has a BOGO coupon the suggested 20% tip on Square is $1.40 vs. $2.80. Our bartenders still provided the service of two beers, but the vast majority of the time guests will opt to tip based on the total they see on the screen. That total does not reflect the server's work in creating that experience, it only reflects the monetary exchange.
This is just 1 transaction but multiplied thousands of times, that's an incredibly significant loss for servers.
