The Community used to have Square Online website highlights. I really learned a lot about the features we could implement on our own website by looking at what other sellers' were capable of doing.
I took a look at @JTPets website today, and wow was I impressed!
Specifically, the Shop section of the website.
From the customer's perspective, the way the Shop section is organized/categorized is absolutely incredible.
The ability to Shop All, Shop Sales, Shop by Brand, Shop by Pet, and much more makes it so easy to find what you want.
Then, if you Shop Sales, each item has the discount labeled under it!
What is evident in the website is that @JTPets has spent an incredible amount of time organizing the products and categories to create the best shopping experience for the customer.

First, thank you! Second, what didn't you like?
1. You have to tell us your secret to getting categories so organized.
2. I am not going to say I don't like... but rather my personal preference:
a. You have 12 links in your header, I tried to keep mine to 5
b. The homepage is a little too static for my taste. I would like to see a picture of the storefront maybe, picture links to items on sale or new products. I just don't get a sense of the site being a site you can purchase on from the homepage (other than Shop Now multiple times and Free Delivery, I suppose).
c. Stories has Featured Post, but Stories is blank content
Again, amazing website. Well done.
@JTPets you can keep the policy, about, contact tabs in just the footer. Thats what I did to keep my menu shorter 🙂
Thank you again for the kind words and for taking a deeper look. I really appreciate the thoughtful feedback.
Category organisation
There is no magic trick here, just a lot of time and iteration. I spent countless hours building out brand level categories, auditing items, and cleaning inconsistencies. Early on, I relied heavily on Google Sheets to audit catalog data. Over time, that evolved into a mix of Sheets and custom Node.js tools that pull data via the Square API to help identify gaps and errors. It is still not 100 percent perfect, but the goal has always been to make it as easy as possible for customers to find what they are looking for.
Design and structure feedback
a. Completely fair point on the header. It has grown organically as the business has grown, and it is due for a cleanup. The suggestion to move policy, about, and contact links to the footer is a great one and something I plan to implement.
b. I agree with you on the homepage. It is overdue for a refresh. I would like to add more visual and dynamic elements, like a storefront photo, featured or sale items, and new product highlights, so it immediately feels more like a place to shop and less static.
c. You caught a real gap there. Stories definitely needs a review and cleanup. That one is squarely on my list.
Overall, this is exactly the kind of feedback that helps make the site better, so thank you for sharing it. And I really enjoy seeing how other sellers are using Square Online as well. There is always something new to learn from each other.
Since we are in the same business, I thought I would share our site also. https://www.fetched-up.com
It is always good to see other businesses using the same platform. I may have to incorporate some of your ideas on some of my pages.
Do you use Astro Loyalty and have you figured out a way to display the monthly offers at all?
OMG Astro is such a pain in the ass, I am trying to get support but they will not work with me they only want to hear from Square - offered to try and write the integration myself (my ai coding is getting so good) I could care less about offers, I just want loyalty integration to get rid of paper cards but the idea of a second POS or ipad drives me mad
We should def chat in a thread about hacks and tricks we use with Square and pet specific niche needs (i also make some cool tools in my github)
Super cute 😍
Thanks for the post . that is a great layout for a site and definitely took note!
