Square Champion

If you could wave a magic wand and fix one thing about Square, what would it be?

Maybe it’s a missing feature, a weird quirk, or just something that slows you down. Let’s hear it! What would you magically improve if Square granted one seller wish today?

I love a lot about Square — the POS is solid, and the online store works great. This  got me to thinking and since @JUYBoutique20 started a thread on revamping their website and we are in the planning stages of doing ours.

I would like to see a little more control over our website, I would like to be able to place things where I want them,  have more control over the size of some items. Have more control over the options we offer with an item.

One other thing I would really like to see changed. In the past couple of months everytime I log into the seller community, Square opens another Square window. What is the purpose of that?

SOLD....not Out of Stock.... I make custom one-of-a-kind items. When the item is sold it is marked "Out of Stock", then I have to go in and add "Sold" to the Description or Title if I want to keep the item visible. I would like to see a simple "SOLD" option. And, the option to leave the price as is, or a price that can be removed, yet keep the item visible. I make a one-of-a-kind piece, I want future customers to see the pieces I make, but not necessarily the price it sold for as it was OOAK, and future pieces may not be the same price.

Yes! All my items are also OOAK, but would like to be able to leave the pictures up... maybe a separate "search" possibility for "sold items" in case somebody is interested in ordering something similar as a "bespoke" piece.

That "low inventory" notice is also annoying-- not all my pieces get tagged with it, even though they are all "limited" to the single inventory item.

I am frustrated that items invoiced are not listed as sold until the invoice is paid. It is hard to capture accurate sales trends depending on terms the customer has. It also impacts my inventory counts. If I sold something in July, but the invoice isn't paid until September, I have to manually populate any inventory report with the "available" inventory vs. on hand. The item has left the building, there is nothing to count. Also, when I need to predict stock needs, it is impossible to remember if something sold in July or September.
