If you could wave a magic wand and fix one thing about Square, what would it be?

Maybe itโ€™s a missing feature, a weird quirk, or just something that slows you down. Letโ€™s hear it! What would you magically improve if Square granted one seller wish today?

I love a lot about Square โ€” the POS is solid, and the online store works great. This  got me to thinking and since @JUYBoutique20 started a thread on revamping their website and we are in the planning stages of doing ours.

I would like to see a little more control over our website, I would like to be able to place things where I want them,  have more control over the size of some items. Have more control over the options we offer with an item.

One other thing I would really like to see changed. In the past couple of months everytime I log into the seller community, Square opens another Square window. What is the purpose of that?

SOLD....not Out of Stock.... I make custom one-of-a-kind items. When the item is sold it is marked "Out of Stock", then I have to go in and add "Sold" to the Description or Title if I want to keep the item visible. I would like to see a simple "SOLD" option. And, the option to leave the price as is, or a price that can be removed, yet keep the item visible. I make a one-of-a-kind piece, I want future customers to see the pieces I make, but not necessarily the price it sold for as it was OOAK, and future pieces may not be the same price.

Yes, I agree

With an option to move to a 'Gallery' of sold items would be great

Yes! All my items are also OOAK, but would like to be able to leave the pictures up... maybe a separate "search" possibility for "sold items" in case somebody is interested in ordering something similar as a "bespoke" piece.

That "low inventory" notice is also annoying-- not all my pieces get tagged with it, even though they are all "limited" to the single inventory item.

I am frustrated that items invoiced are not listed as sold until the invoice is paid. It is hard to capture accurate sales trends depending on terms the customer has. It also impacts my inventory counts. If I sold something in July, but the invoice isn't paid until September, I have to manually populate any inventory report with the "available" inventory vs. on hand. The item has left the building, there is nothing to count. Also, when I need to predict stock needs, it is impossible to remember if something sold in July or September.

I'm late replying to this, but please add a column to purchase orders to show date received, not just "received".  We often get multiple partial shipments against purchase orders and having the date would be helpful when checking what needs to be followed up on.

I agree with you. Having the date shown on when items were actually received would be very helpful when I am trying to figure out those purchase orders where the vendor ships 3-4 different boxes over a period of time

Some of us still print out hard copies of our purchase orders to staple together with the invoices and packing lists. Being able to print them directly from within Square would be very helpful since currently I am forced to download them as PDF then open up the download folder and then another program to actually print. We can print reports from directly in Square so I know that itโ€™s possible to enable it. Been asking for 10 years, been ignored for 10 years so maybe the magic wand can get it done

To have the clocks on it synced and be correct. Both my registers are off by several minutes each and are both different

Better display of multiple location stock (i.e. the ability to group all stock into one bucket for online fulfillment, but still track by location on the back end)

Empower support to manually issue refunds when your system fails. Stop hiding behind AI chatbots. Offer real support when customers need it. Fix your hardware. Fix the dead battery issues by using enterprise grade hardware, stop giving business users junk consumer grade products.

I would improve the capabilities of Square Appointments to be more relevant and user-friends for art studio and others who book one-time-only or repeating classes.

1. Make it possible to set up a class in the Square Appointments app that is shareable. In other words, allow customers/students to book and pay for the class by following a link or widget on my website or in an email or social media post. As it is, I can set up a class (currently in Beta) on my appointments calendar, but there is no option for sharing it. I have to manually add folks to the class (meaning they have to contact me directly), or I have to set up a booking page on EventBrite or similar.

I wish there was a real-time event sign-up list like EventBrite.
