Unfortunately, no, there is still no test/practice mode. The best thing to do, as stated in a post above, is to create a new location and run test transactions through that location. It's clumsy, but the best that can be done right now.
Since this thread is a couple of years old and I am new to square I wanted to check and make to see if there is now a practice or test environment that can be used to train with?
Thanks for circling back on this, @Inkcitypro. There still isn't a test account to use for training purposes. I'd recommend creating another location, as mentioned above, to use for training!
I would love to see the option of either a test mode for the POS or some type of online training module that is set up exactly the way our POS system is set up to train our staff on. Even if there was a way to create some sort of training video by pulling up a copy cat of our POS system on my computer to do the training? This would help us with so many issues and consistency with our checkout process.
It's been 4 years Square Dev Team. We need a test/demo. Your user size and it needs have probably 100x since the beginning. This is one of your first features. It should be the best and set the paradigm for others.
