Feature Request: Connect my Square Checking Account to Quickbooks

Feature Request: Connect my Square Checking Account to Quickbooks

I'd like to have my new square checking account transactions transferred to Quickbooks, but I don't see the bank used for Square Checking available as a choice.  Is there a way around this or am I just missing the bank in the list of banks available that Quickbooks deals with?

Hey there ROOTANDSTEM1!

I just checked if there is a way to connect Quickbooks with Square and looks like it is possible, all you have to do is:

  1. Login to your Quickbooks account,
  2. Head to the Apps session from the left menu,
  3. Get to Find Apps located at the top of your screen,
  4. You can use the Search bar to find Square and select  Sync with Square,
  5. Click on Get App Now,
  6. Follow the steps

This should be everything you need to connect/sync your Quickbooks account with your Square store.

Thank you so much for your response! I did as you suggested and it only transfers over customer transactions not my Square checking account transactions. Trying to reconcile those in quickbooks, so I can easily give all my info to an accountant. Maybe because Square banking is so new it's just not set up to work with Quickbooks in that capacity yet?

We do all our banking with Square / Square Financial / Sutton Bank; and it’s excellent in every way expect the inability to fully sync/integrate with accounting software.

Each app I’ve researched appears to lack syncing on the ‘expense’ side. So payments made with our Square Checking account - again are unable to automatically sync with accounting software like QB’sz

We of course would love to be able to fully integrate Square with Quickbooks (or some other app.)

I’m guessing block is working on this and would love to know when this should be available for those of us who do any and all biz banking via Square/Sutton.

Excel - (our present way of tracking financials) - keeps #’s accurate but it’s time-consuming and not as robust as say Quickbooks would be.

Thank for looking into the this, much appreciated.

Hey there @dhc!

You are absolutely correct we are working hard on getting Square Banking to be capable of so much more. I will pass this feature request over to our product team for their visibility and possible consideration when working on future updates.

Thank you for taking the time to voice the need for a feature like this.

Has there been any movement on this Square Checking integration with Quickbooks or Xero? I'm having the same issues as @dhc. The appeal of a Square Checking account was to have all my business done in one place but it's proving to be a bad choice if I have to do manual imports into accounting systems every month.

I noticed that Sutton Bank, the institution that holds our Square accounts, has been added to the list of banks to connect to Quickbooks. But, all sign in attempts have failed on my end.  Not sure where to go or what to do from here.

While Sutton Bank is our Banking Partner issuing the Square Debit Card you do not have a bank account with them but we us. We are working on expanding the capabilities of the Square Debit Card to be able to connect to Quickbooks or other tools to see your transactions.

At this time this is still considered a feature request @rootandstem1. I will share your post and feedback with the product team for their visibility and consideration regarding this matter.
