Feature Request: Add items to an appointment

When creating an appointment on the iOS app, I have the ability to add items. However, when creating an appointment directly on the Square website (desktop), I do not see the ability to add an item onto an appointment.

 

Why would it be available in one place and not another? Am I missing something?

Hi again @AROBINSON! You're right, at this time you can't add items to an appointment that is created from your online Appointments Calendar.

 

Can you share a bit of information about your business and how you'd like to use services and items with Square Appointments - so that we can share your feedback with the Appointments team?

Yes @Helen, because services do not allow for modifiers, I am unfortunately having to essentially make every one of my services "items" as a workaround. So, being able to add an item to an appointment is needed in my case.

 

To the broader user base, I can see where a service may be booked and the customer also needs to include the purchase of an item to go along with the purchase. Let's take a mobile massage therapist as an example. A customer can book a massage and also purchase a massage oil that the therapist sells. The therapist needs to ensure they take the oil with them to the client's location to deliver to them. If the item must be purchased separately from the service, this not only forces two transactions thereby over complicating the transaction, but the therapist in this example could easily forget to bring the oil to the client at the appointment.

 

My short response would be: it's included on the mobile app for a reason (a beneficial feature), so why not allow it on the desktop interface? Why some features are only available on one platform or another makes no sense to me. Either include the feature or don't.

Thank you @AROBINSON, this is very helpful indeed and I've shared this use case with the Appointments team directly.

 

In the meantime, you're right not all features that are available from in the app are available in the online Calendar - yet. But Appointments team is working on this! I'll let you know here as soon as we have news to share.

  I would like to request the feature to allow clients/customers to book multiple services during one appointment. As well as, add items that to you provide, to there booking. Currently, to my knowledge, this can only be done when we create the invoice or appointment for the client.

 

  With by business, multiple services can be done, within one appointment. And, I offer items, such as “expedited delivery” and “additional edited images,” for my photography business. It’d be great if they could add those things themselves, when booking. And, give us the option to determine which items are accessible on the sight. Much like you do with the services.

For Square Appointments

Say I have three classes meant to teach different parts of a subject and the client, who has every Thursday off, wants to go ahead and schedule all three classes. Is there a way for clients to schedule(3 different thursdays) and pay for all 3 classes at once without having to pay for and schedule each one separately? Having 1 transaction, instead of 3 different transactions. 

 

The only paths I can think of is them doing all the different transactions or me scheduling the days manually with them.

Hello everyone, I'm helping friend with their site and they want to let people book an appointment and in this appointment, they want to sell things. They are a farm and selling live chicken. So in the appointment, client would be able to choose the article (chicken).

 

I saw that I can do that when I create an appointment ... but not from the (add the link to the navigation part) ... ( https://squareup.com/help/ca/en/article/5355-set-up-online-booking-with-square-appointments  )

 

So how can I add the article field in the appointment ?

Would be great because let say they have 50 chicken ... they can only book for 50 chicken ... and not book for 200 chickens!

When you say "article", do you mean "item" @djchriss?

 

I think you're asking if it is possible for customers to add items to their appointment when booking an appointment online through the booking site - is that right?
