new ideas for tipping at sign out
hello
it seems that my clients forget to tip and sign out. and then before they walk out they remember to tip. im not sure of how to go back to their actual ticket to add it on. i know to speed things up I have just run their card again.
i think if the sign out were more like an old school tip print out they would catch it as a reminder to add in a tip. the tip bar is too small and it takes too much thinking because they have to think about what to do, percentages, custom etc. they just need to get out the door.

Hey @LRR, thanks for sharing this.
We definitely don't want you to lose out on any tips! 💸
If the amount your customers usually tip is a specific dollar amount and your transaction size is less than $10, the Smart Tip option might help make things more simple.
With Smart Tip Amounts:
- If a transaction is less than $10, the available tipping options will be: No Tip, $1, $2 or $3.
- For a transaction $10 or more, the available tipping options will be: No Tip, 15%, 20% or 25%.
In addition, you may want to try changing your tipping screen settings to see if that helps with visibility.
Note: once a payment is completed, there isn't a way to add the tip amount on. In this case, what you're doing by running the card again is the only way to process the additional amount.
I'll also be sharing your suggestion with our product liaison team, who tracks these requests. Hope this helps and feel free to chime in with any other insight!

I'm having the same problem. They should make it that it doesn't accept your signature until you tap one of the tipping options, including no tip. I've been missing out on tips since I switched over:(

Excellent idea Amysti in having a option that forces a customer to choose before the transaction completes: They should make it that it doesn't accept your signature until you tap one of the tipping options, including no tip.
