I know i can refund the whole amount, but the customer is gone so i can re-run for correct amount
anyone have a number to contact square after hours?
You can return partial amounts.
Go to activity. Click on the transaction. Click on issue refund. Type in the amount to refund (180.00). Click refund button.
what if it is the oposite way? charged customer .43 when should have charged 43.00?
You have 2 options basically, contact the buyer, who you probably don't know. So that will be tough. You can look at as much detail as square has for the transaction, it might have a name that you could know or google. HTTPS://squareup.com/sales/transactions.
You can try contacting square via email support, tell them the payment transaction details, and they can sometimes send an email to the customer if the customer provided an email address for receipt delivery.

good luck.
@Greyhawk3 If your client received an email receipt then you can issues a .03 cent refund on the .43 and when you are promted to select a reason - choose "other" and you can add the statement "please contact our office as soon as possible to correct your $43.00 transaction.
The refund for .03 cents is a strange receipt to get and will most likely be noticed by the client. The only other factor, hopefully your client is honest and will contact you.
This wierd fix has actually worked for me.
