block someone

How can I block / ban certain people from even making a purchase?  I find it hard to believe that nobody has brought this up.  If you have a brick and mortar store, you've banned terrible people.

I want to make sure I am fully understanding you here. Are you looking to keep specific customers from coming into your brick & mortar and making purchase through the Point of Sale app? Or are you utilizing Square Appointments or another feature? 

 

If you are using Appointments, there is an ongoing thread of Sellers who are vocalizing the need for this feature. You can follow all progress and updates there.

 

I will keep an eye out for your response! The more details about what you are specifically trying to restrict, the better.

I have the same problem in appointment app. A customer keeps making appointments then no shows. How can I permanently ban that person from making appointments through the app. I want to permanently block them.

Not sure if there is any update with this topic.  Just would like to agree with everyone to come up with a way to block someone from booking with you through square appointments.  I don’t have time to accept/decline every appointment that is made with me but have a few that love to book big time slots and cancel right before they’re scheduled to come in.  Cancellation policies and charging cards are kind of a pain in the butt sometimes so it would be nice to be able to just block.  I know other programs in the beauty industry allow this and I thought about switching.  Hopefully square can come through!

YES! We need a block customer feature. Too many no call no shows whose card declines when I try to charge the no show fee. All I get is a prompt to ask them to add a different card ( they know there aren’t sufficient funds). They get away with no show booking even though the app tells me the appointment is card protected. I can switch to the prepay feature but the rates are higher.  PLEASE ADD A BLOCK CUSTOMER FEATURE ASAP. Time is money and wasted time makes NO MONEY.

I agree! I've been using another salon software because it was getting out of control with no shows from the same people in Square with insufficient funds when I attempted to charge for fees due. They kept doing it because I wasn't able to block them. From what I see now, there is a Block List under Risk Manager but it's kind of annoying the way you have to search for a client to add to it.
