What do I need to connect my chip card reader to iPad 2

I purchased the chip card reader and base stand.  When I received it I found out that it doesn't connect to my iPad 2.  I read something that said I need to connect it directly via a usb hub.  No such hub is offered in store.  Does anybody have any suggestions?

Square

You are correct, you will need a Square Stand to plug the base dock of the reader into. The iPad 2 will not connect wirelessly with the contactless and chip card reader.

If you do not have a Square Stand and you’re still interested in accepting chip cards with Square, check out the Square chip card reader on our online shop. The reader is $29, plugs directly into your device via the headset jack, and accepts both chip and magstripe cards.
