Transaction not found

I have a transaction ID# that says the transaction was approved but it doesn't show in transactions. How do I find the money from the transaction?

I've merged your question to an existing thread where other Square Sellers have asked: Is it possible to search by transaction ID?

 


In short, we currently do not have the ability to search by transaction ID in Dashboard. However, we do have several other filters by which you can find transactions in Dashboard.


You can search your transactions by:

  • Receipt #
  • Transaction total
  • Items sold
  • Ticket name
  • The device on which the transaction was taken
    Dining option

None of those other options worked. It's very unsettling when your website dashboard says "transaction completed" gives you a transaction number, then find out that funds were never credited to your account.  What recourse do I have? There's no one at Square. You can't Email anyone or call to find out what happened. What's the reason to have transaction numbers if you have no way to track them. I'm still out the money. What can I do?

Sorry to hear those suggestions didn't resolve the issue here. If you haven't already, we recommend checking your transfer reports as a next step in locating this transaction.

 



To determine which transactions were included in each of your transfers, follow these steps:

  1. Visit Balance in your online Square Dashboard.
  2. Select a date range of your choice.
  3. Select the transfer you’d like to view to see the transfer details, including individual card payments.

 

Keep in mind that payments are transferred according to your close of day or transfer cut-off time. If payments were accepted after your close of day time, they’ll be included in the following transfer.

 

 

 

If you are still unable to locate the transaction after checking your transfer reports, please reach out to our support team and we can take a closer look with you.

You can give us a call at 855-700-6000 between 6am-6pm PT, Monday through Friday. If you need to track down your customer code, you can find it on our Support Center.
