What is the difference between the Total collected and net sales? If we are tryin to balance our cash drawers do we want the total collected or the net sales?
@quarrypark3900 Total collected!
This is the actual cash and actual credit cards you have taken in. The net sales are your "gross sales" - discounts, returns, etc. They are more for accounting purposes.
TOTAL COLLECTED = Cash + Credit Card Transactions + (checks or gift cards etc)
To balance your drawers the cash is the magic number. Beginning Till + Cash = Total in drawer.
so if you start at 150.00 take in 200.00 you should have your 350.00 depending on how you want to balance at the end of the shift or day. We count the drawer down to 150 and then the cash left over should equal the cash under total collected.
