Time limit to adding tips to credit cards manually

Is there any time limit on adding tips to transactions after close of business? I generally do this at closing or next morning. But if I get a long weekend do I need to get the tips in before a certain time frame?

Once a sale has been completed (payment has been received and sale closed), that transaction cannot be changed.  Tips need to be entered before the sale has been completed.

 If you are using sign and tip on printed receipts, you have 36 hours to enter the tips. If you are signing on the iPad they can only enter the tips at the time of the sale.  Nothing can be added later.
