Syncing Etsy inventory with current square inventory

I would like to sync my Etsy store inventory with my current Square inventory but my current Square inventory has everything organized alphabetically by SKU number. How will the Etsy sync organize my inventory?  Is it alphabetical, by name of item in listing or does it use the SKU number?  There will be duplicates. How do I know whether the item is from my Etsy store or my current Square inventory?

Welcome to the Seller Community! 

While I'm not 100% certain of this since I haven't tested it myself, I would lean toward your Etsy inventory being organized the same way your current Square inventory is within your Square Dashboard since you're syncing those items over. 

Your best option to find out more details on this would be to contact Etsy directly, as they built this integration on their end and support it completely.

You can also use Trunk to keep inventory synced in real-time between Etsy & Square. Trunk also links by SKU but doesn't touch the hierarchy of how you laid out your listings on Etsy and Square.
