Ringing up Delivery Services

I have a small food shop, and I've started working with food delivery services like GrubHub, DoorDash, etc. The extra cash is great, but I have no idea how I should ring up these services in my POS. There is no exchange of money, as the money is wired directly to my account by the delivery services. Right now we just give them the food, but it would be great to track delivery sales in the POS.

Any suggestions on how I can go about this without actually accepting money on the pickup?

Solution

You can ring up the sale and when it is on the payment screen choose other.

Or you could ring it up and apply a 100% discount on it if you are worried that the sale will be in 2 locations.

Hey @Stella!- When you process sales as other tender, Square doesn't process or deposit any funds. It's just there to use as more of a tracking tool.

You can always login to your Online Square Dashboard and naviagte to your Sales Summary to view the payments that were taken as "Other".

Let me know if there's any other information you're looking for!

@EJ_

I'm having the same issues as Max and I've tried your workaround method, but what happens is by entering the tax amount as a tax item, say for instance a tax payment of $1.50, it ups your daily sales by $1.50 but doesn't include that $1.50 in your taxes on the daily report. Any other suggestions?

I would really like to be able to ring up the sales tax as a dollar amount under the actual tax setting rather than as a percentage.

With food delivery services becoming increasing more popular this issue should be addressed as a matter of urgency for correct tax reporting.

The title of this thread has been edited from the original: Is there 3rd party food delivery integration on Point Of Sale?

Is there 3rd party food delivery on Point Of Sale? We are a small food stall and don't need to use Square for Restaurant but would want to use the 3rd party delivery integration. Does it exist on the Point of Sale or something we can pay monthly for?

Hello @anhmazingfood! You're right, at this time you can integrate with food delivery apps if you're subscribed to Square for Restaurante - the same feature isn't available for the Square Point of Sale app. We're tracking this feature request in this thread. Other sellers have shared how they are entering sales for delivery too, which might help you in the meantime!

Hey @ClustersJO thanks for checking in here.

While I don't have any news to share on available integrations for Square for Retail Plus or Square Point of Sale, we'll continue to pass on your feedback to our Product Team.

We'll be sure to tag everyone in this thread if we have more news to share here. It's helpful to keep an eye on our Square Marketplace as well which we keep up to date with available 3rd-party integrations.

P.S. I noticed this is your first post, welcome to the Seller Community! If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
