I am the owner of a small business spa. I have two independent contractors who use my Square Appointments only to i) view the calendar and book appointments and ii) to sell products.
They use their own, independent square login for accepting payments for their services.
I was wondering if square payroll has the ability for me to create 1099's for them for the products they have sold throughout the year, plus any erroneous service transaction they made and I had to pay them back.
Heya @Laurel_V and welcome to the Community.
There wouldn't be a way for you or us to do this as far as I know.
I was looking at Add Independent Contractors to Square Payroll
and under step#7 it says: "Select the Pay Type and Payment Method. Note: To pay commission-only team members, choose Hourly and enter a rate of $0. When running payroll, enter commissions under the Amount column."
Is the commissions part tied to them geting paid for Services or can it be specified for selling products only? My contractors have their own schedule (no timesheets/timecards or anything like that) and they get paid directly by their customers.
@Laurel_V It may be best for you to reach out to one of our Payroll specialists to see if this is a possibility.
My knowledge of Payroll is very basic but we have specialists you can call and talk to who can answer this better for you or tell you how you should set this up.
