Payment links in Square Restaurant

Hi I just switched to Square for Restaurant away from Square Retail because of Retail missing the KDS feature that I needed for my business - but now I can't send invoices or payment links from the restaurant app... its like a no win situation... too many pieces that are there but not actually put together by square. I'm pretty frustrated right now. I can't even save tickets in square for restaurant and then send it as an invoice or payment link in normal square POS app because restaurant tickets and POS tickets are somehow different (?!)

Not to mention I can input arbitrary units in the web UI but the Restaurant app just says "unsupported item" jeez louise and on top of that Square says you can't have costing and restaurant at the same time - but right now I have both my last month of Retail active along with my Restaurant and it sure shows cost fields with no problem.

Am I just missing something? I'm about to throw the whole thing out of the window...

@BSLprints One thing you may find is that since square for restaurants and retail and point of sale are all separate apps they coexist.  When I used restaurants, I kept a copy of the POS app on the tablet and would swap to it for invoices.  It works great for me.  Let me ask a couple questions though:  You were using retail...why did you switch to restaurants?  Also, have you used the regular point of sale app?

Well they _sort of_ co-exist. Retail and POS work together better then Restaurants and POS because Restaurants and POS use separate systems for saved tickets so you can't swap between them 😕

Yes I've used the regular POS app quite a lot. In addition to KDS support, the restaurant app provides a much better workflow for my business - with the exception of no payment links or invoices (either one would be fine!)
